Board Games
Mondays 1pm-3pm
We’re open every Monday afternoon with a selection of board games, to suit all ages and levels of English.
Everyone is welcome to come along for a cuppa, a chat and a game.
Women’s Group
The Women’s Group meet every Wednesday at MILK from 10am-1pm. We put the kettle on and catch up then usually take part in an activity or workshop. Our activities focus on creativity, well being and connection. In the past we have had crochet, glass painting, women’s health, song making, recipe sharing and story-telling
The group is about making connections and building strength and resilience. We try and facilitate sessions on whatever the group wants to try out or learn more about. After the activitiy we sit down together and share lunch.
We are open to suggestions and keen to hear what you would like to happen in the group . We are always happy to hear from New Scots who would like to get involved.
English Conversation Cafe (women only)
Every Friday 10am - 12pm.
This is a semi structured session to welcome new people to the community, give them a chance to practise English and learn about the city from a local.
If you’ve been in Glasgow all your life or just arrived, we’d love to have you along!
Travel expenses can be provided.
IT Workshops
Women’s Computer Skills Workshops
We are not currently running computer workshops but hope to start these again in future.
——————
With funding from the Scottish Refugee Council and the Scottish Government, we have distributed a number of laptops amongst our network of refugee women. Alongside our computer skills workshops, this has allowed us to support many women with the transition online.
Practical Support
Every Friday 1pm - 3pm
We offer practical support like form filling, making appointments, contacting housing officers, help with volunteering and job applications every week. This session is a chance to get the support you need or offer it to someone else.
We will have access to laptop computers, mobile phones and internet.
Community Meal
We host a community meal in our space on Victoria Rd every Tuesday evening.
We’re there from 6pm-7pm serving up a hot meal to sit in or take away.
These meals are completely free but donations are very welcome.
We host Movement in Thyme - a community herbalist collective - every Thursday at 1pm. Their aim is to make herbal knowledge and plant medicine accessible to all. They have weekly workshops from £0 -£10 where they make medicines, grow herbs, go foraging and share from their experience.
We are also involved in a number of community growing spaces. Throughout summer last year we had weekly sessions and hosted a community gardening day, seed sorting sessions, outdoor kimchi making and more.
